Star charts and calendars. Free apps and websites that tell you what's in the sky above. These are some of Stardome's favourites:

Matariki / Māori New Year. When is Matariki? The Matariki star cluster is visible all year except in May. The reappearance of the Matariki stars signals the beginning of the Māori New Year. However, not all iwi celebrate at the same time.

Maramataka and phases of the Moon. The maramataka is a traditional Māori lunar-stellar system based on the movements and phases of te Marama (the Moon) and ngā whetū (stars). Find out how it helps us understand our environment.
